Over 12,000 kids and their families attended the Little Food Festival over two fun filled days (9 & 10 April, 2025).
Kids planted a seedlings, experienced the day in the life of an OzHarvest Food Rescue Driver, created their own bocconcini skewer, learned about the role of food in brain health, got up close to a wiggly worm farm and more!
There were so many great highlights including hanging out with our friends Costa, Thanh (The Fruit Nerd), Mandy Hall and Lord Mayor Nicholas Reece, dancing with Junkyard Beats, trying out lots of new foods and learning about our food system!
Thanks to everyone who came down to Fed Square and joined in on the foodie fun.
The Little Food Festival is a celebration of possibility – two vibrant days of hands-on activities to spark curiosity and excitement about the entire food system.
From the soil where food is grown to the tables where it’s shared, we showcase the magic of food and the role we all play in shaping a sustainable future.
Early childhood experiences are pivotal to how kids see the world and the choices they make. By helping them understand the connections between food, health, and the environment we’re planting the seeds for lifelong habits.
When kids fall in love with the magic of food – how it’s grown, prepared and shared – they grow up ready to care for it, protect it, and champion it.
The Little Food Festival empowers the next generation to imagine a brighter future, where people and planet can thrive.
